Weston Spalding Sewer Connection

After putting a camera down the main line (AWA sewer pipe) we found a clay “T” junction. This can mean there is a lateral going to the property, but the chances are it will be just a “T” junction.

The road in Weston had to be closed, this will take 3 months, this will cost up to £600 in Lincolnshire but it can cost more in other areas.

The work was carried out on the 21st October 2015, it took 2 days.

Went down 1.9 metres, it was a junction only.

Fleet Hargate Foul Water Sewer Connection

Connection for two new properties

This sewer connection is for a 4″ clay pipe on the opposite side of the Old Fleet Road outside Acacia House.

The depth of connection is 1.5 metres deep, this kind of connection is a “T” junction 6″x6″x4″ clay, as you can only put clay sewer pipes under the road.

Day 1:

Road Closed at 9am after buses have passed for school,  We then marked out the road & cut with a road saw. Next thing to do was excavate, to find the Anglian Water main sewer pipe, should be 1.4 to 1.5m deep, using a CAT at all times (cable avoidance tool)

Day 2:

After yesterday we have about 3 clay pipes remaining to lay, (5 metres). Job completed at 4pm today, went well.

Penny Hill Site Near Holbeach

Start Date: 26th January 2015

I had a look at this job in Holbeach before we started, as another contractor was putting in a concrete manhole for the Football Pavilion. We needed to connect to this manhole, and take the 6″ clay pipe another 115 metres to an existing Angian Water manhole, including 5 more concrete manholes.

When visiting the site,  it was clear that we had a ground water problem, running silt (when wet it can act like quick sand) and the ground workers were struggling to put the concrete ring in.

The depth at this point was only about 4′ deep (1.2m). This was the shallow end, the AWA manhole was 10’8″ (3.2 metres) deep.

I made in my mind up to have de-watering pumps on site from the begining, I also started at the deepest point.

This was January cold, wet & we had some snow.
